THE CK722
CLASSIC GERMANIUM TRANSISTOR MUSEUM CONSTRUCTION ARTICLES TABLE OF CONTENTS |
In early 1953, Mr. Norm Krim, the VP of the Raytheon Receiving Tube Division, who was also responsible for the development of Raytheon transistors, invited the editors of 12 industry electronics publications, such as Radio and Television News, to the transistor facility on Chapel Street in Newton, Massachusetts. The editors were offered free CK722s if they agreed to publish “how-to-make-it” articles using the CK722. Most of the editors had not yet seen a junction transistor and were very excited about this opportunity to meet the growing public demand for information on this new technology. From this initial meeting came the motivation (and transistors) for literally hundreds of CK722 construction articles. This section of the CK722 webpage provides images of some of the most interesting and memorable CK722 construction articles from the past five decades. 1. RAYTHEON CK722 APPLICATIONS BOOK
